We are currently seeking a part-time
contract communications assistant to help us with the
following aspects of our business.
Responsibilities:
-
Assist with media relation activities (i.e.
Distributing media releases, PSA’s and advisories)
-
Maintain and update media and events databases
-
Attend media opportunities
-
Assist with fundraising activities (i.e. sponsorship
research, sending gift-in-kind requests, etc.)
-
Coordinate event details such as venue, catering, AV
and décor
Qualifications:
-
Degree/diploma in Communications
is an asset
-
Minimum of 2 years experience in
events, fundraising or communications
-
Must be able to work effectively
and independently from home
-
Strong knowledge of Microsoft
Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access & Outlook)
-
Own computer, with internet
connection, and own vehicle
-
Excellent organizational and
attention to detail skills
-
Outstanding communication skills
both written and verbal with an aptitude to develop
and maintain strong working relationships with key
contacts and stakeholders
-
Ability to work successfully
under tight deadlines and in a team-oriented
environment
-
Have an outgoing and positive
friendly manner
