  We are currently looking for a part-time Communications Assistant


Status:

Part-time (5 – 20 hours a week)
Contract employment - Work from home
 

We are currently seeking a part-time contract communications assistant to help us with the following aspects of our business.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with media relation activities (i.e. Distributing media releases, PSA’s and advisories)
  • Maintain and update media and events databases
  • Attend media opportunities
  • Assist with fundraising activities (i.e. sponsorship research, sending gift-in-kind requests, etc.)
  • Coordinate event details such as venue, catering, AV and décor

Qualifications:

  • Degree/diploma in Communications is an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in events, fundraising or communications
  • Must be able to work effectively and independently from home
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access & Outlook)
  • Own computer, with internet connection, and own vehicle
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal with an aptitude to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key contacts and stakeholders
  • Ability to work successfully under tight deadlines and in a team-oriented environment
  • Have an outgoing and positive friendly manner
